Cultivated as leafy vegetable that can be used like spinach. Hardy and succulent vegetable that is similar to spinach in taste and texture and can be used in cooking and salads. It is frost-tender but ready for harvest when true spinach will have long gone. It's relatively easy to grow and very ornamental with its triangular shaped leaves and a trailing growth habit.
