A healthy salad plant with thick, succulent and oval leaves best grown over the summer months. This is a great salad vegetable undergoing a revival in popularity. It has crisp, fleshy leaves and a refreshing mild and sweet flavour. This inconspicuous plant is often thought of as a weed but should actually be considered a superfood providing a good source of iron and vitamin A, B, C, and E.
