A big dusky red beefsteak Russian heirloom tomato with cult status in the US. Paul Robeson is a cult classic. Seed savers and tomato lovers are raving about this variety. The fruits are large and beautiful with a dusky red colour and green shoulders, their flesh is firm and juicy. It's most famous for its distinctive smokey sweet and tangy flavour. Named after Paul Robeson (1898-1976) an African-American actor, athlete, opera singer and an outspoken political activist for racial equality and social justice. It is not the only reason why we offer this tomato in our catalogue.
